of the
2008 Elections.
The national environmental organizations have memorable names like
The National Resources Defense Counsel and
Greenpeace with eye catching logos that are easy to spot on the bumper sticker ahead while you are stuck on the parking lot that the San Diego Freeway has turned into because no new highways have been built since the 1980's.
Even the smaller, localized "green" organizations like
Heal the Bay in Los Angeles (referring to Santa Monica Bay) stands to gain increased federal government funding from the Obama administration's
Economic Recovery Plan that also contains a renewable energy and an
Electric Car component. Click Underlined Link:
Think Sunshine
Although we see a lot of opportunities for small businesses in the expansion of the use of
Solar Energy to heat water for commercial and residential buildings and the beginning of larger scale electricity generation by utilities using the sun's energy that creates the need for air conditioning those same buildings; the environmental groups are busy thinking-up ways to "cash-in" on these developments.
The environmental groups themselves are businesses. They receive free advertising from the broadcast, print and corporate Internet media and sell T-shirts and coffee mugs at inflated prices to supplement their income from foundations and the grants from the federal and state government.
Now they are going to be pushing the
Lieberman-Warner Cap-and-Trade Bill (a tax on Carbon Dioxide) in the US Senate again (that both Barack Obama and John McCain supported!) that will layer another tax on all fuels and utility bills.
