Please forgive. I haven't lost my mind. I'm just stating a fact.
I just received an "I need your $$$ support" email from our good Senator from NC Libby Dole and IT SUCKED. We are way behind as far as marketing ourselves goes. It's as if we don't care about any sort of young support.
As painful as it is for me to ask this, please go to Barack Obama's
website and see how a candidate's webpage should be structured (warning, if you actually read through it, you may throw up.) It's awesome, it's clean, it's user friendly and its a great use of the online tools we have available today. Why is his the only one? Basically, all other's online strategy is weak at best. They just don't get it. Neither did he. That's why he hired one of the founders of Facebook as his strategist. And, BOOM, web domination. I have to give him Kudos for this.
The GOP does stand for tradition (or at least it is supposed to) but that doesn't mean old-fashioned. We still need to speak the truth about our beliefs, but we need to evolve the means by which we do it. Like it or not, marketing our beliefs effectively is just as important as our beliefs themselves. And if we don't soon, I may very well be part of our party's last generation.
