Save The Republicans

The only value that I share with John McCain, and the only one I believe he is telling the truth about is his stance on the war and his commitment to our troops in Iraq. I think his hononrable service to our country is commendable. But, I don't believe he won't raise taxes or cut spending. I think that much like his record in office, he will play nicey with all the liberals and "reach out" to his "friends" in the Democratic Party and that will equal trouble for us. So the question is, do we take the one important issue of Iraq and vote just based on that and because he is the only Republican candidate? Or, do we make a statement, knowing in doing so we could be doomed with Hillary or Obama, and vote for a third party candidate like Wayne Allyn Root? Any thoughts?

Wow. What a dilemma. I hate to say it, but I would much rather have a democrat in a republican t-shirt than a liberal who I think will start the next third world war because of a hot flash and Obama is even worse than her! I cannot help feeling pressured to not take the chance of having either of those imbeciles overtake the White House. Imagine having Hillary or Obama for the next four years. By the time we get a republican back in they will have jacked our country beyond repair.

The biggest change is the socialized medicine. Once it is in place it is almost impossible to get rid of. I cannot stand any of them and I am sad that those are the choices that we have. So unfortunately, in the fall I will close my eyes, plug my nose and vote for McCain. Glorified democrat but better than radical socialist.

That’s an excellent question. Let’s phrase it another way. Do we sell out our values for the lesser of 2 evils? The purpose of being part of the opposition is . . . to oppose. You are absolutely correct when you say that McCain is too quick to make nice with the other side. His service to our country was admirable, so was John Murtha’s John Kerry’s and AlGore and I respect them for their military service, when their nation called they answered. It doesn’t mean their ideas are sound or that I want them as president.
My wife and I had a discussion about this last night. Given the options available to us, I think our best bet is to see Hillary in the White house. Blasphemy you say!!?? Here’s the logic
If McCain gets in the white house, as head of the party, the republicans in the house and senate will carry his water for him no matter how stupid. We won’t be able to oppose Barrak Obama because every time we do it will become a race issue.
Hillary has already proven herself to be incompetent – the healthcare debacle and hr efforts to move the Arkansas school system from 48th best to 49th as 1st lady of the state. She’s also one of the most polarizing political figures in American history. Her ideas –which for all intents and purposes are the same as Obama’s will be much easier to oppose.
I say either under vote McCain or write in a true conservative perhaps the party leadership will one day get the message
