Is it possible that for the first time in history the election will be won or lost because of a Vice Presidential choice?
After watching Obama's speech on the last night of the DNC, I had an overwhelming feeling the the election may very well be over. That was just the kind of enthusiastic, passionate, tax-raising, government spending, nanny-state (not really even saying anything) rhetoric that the left and the so-called middle wanted to hear. And in rock-star fashion. McCain, though funny at times, just doesn't have that kind of charisma. It's over.
The Friday morning came and with the announcement of Sarah Palin. Wow, did he actually pick the perfect candidate. The only one that would actually give the GOP 4 more years? Possibly. I see only 2 futures. The unknown Palin makes a few "rookie" errors and comes across as only the token-woman VP pick. Or, the unknown Palin, having been assumed to be the token-woman VP pick, demonstrates the true conservative she is and knocks down everything thrown at her (and it will be thrown.)
Only time will tell. But, I've heard her name in the past as a true rising-star in the conservative movement and I like what little I've seen so far. But, one thing's for sure. It's going to be a fun election season.
